Please read these terms before contacting us about or placing an order for The Manor. By placing an order, you agree to these terms.

These terms are provided for informational purposes. Nordic Nuances recommends consulting a qualified legal advisor for advice specific to your situation.

1. How Orders Work

Nordic Nuances candles are sold by direct inquiry, not through an automated online checkout. To order, contact us at [email protected].

Reaching out, requesting information, or asking to be kept updated is free and does not create a binding purchase contract. An order is formed only when we confirm availability and pricing to you in writing and you complete payment. Until both of those things happen, either side can walk away with no obligation.

Before you pay, we will confirm the price, the shipping cost, and an estimated ship window for your order.

2. Shipping & Estimated Delivery

Each Manor is hand-poured to order. When you place an order, we will give you an estimated ship window that we have a reasonable basis to expect we can meet. If we do not state a window, we will ship within 30 days of receiving your confirmed, paid order.

If we are unable to ship within the time we quoted you (or within 30 days, if no time was quoted), we will:

1. Notify you by email before that date;
2. Offer you the option to cancel your order for a full refund — no questions asked; and
3. Provide a revised estimated ship date.

If we do not hear back from you within 30 days of a delay notice, your order will be automatically cancelled and fully refunded, in accordance with the FTC Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule (16 CFR Part 435).

3. Handmade Variation

Each Manor is individually hand-poured. Small variations in color, surface texture, and finish are natural characteristics of a handmade product and are not considered defects. We photograph our candles accurately, but reasonable variation from piece to piece and batch to batch is to be expected and is part of the character of the product.

4. Returns & Refunds

Change of mind. Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery for unburned candles in their original packaging. Return shipping is the customer's responsibility. Because The Manor is large and heavy (11 kg / 25 lb), return shipping is typically expensive — please take that into account before requesting a change-of-mind return. A refund is issued once we receive the candle and confirm it is unused and undamaged.

Damaged or defective. If your candle arrives damaged or has a structural defect, email [email protected] with a photo within 7 days of delivery. We will arrange a replacement or full refund at no cost to you — you will not need to ship the candle back.

5. Safety & Proper Use (ASTM F2058)

The Manor is an open-flame candle product. These warnings also appear on the product and must be followed at all times:

• Burn within sight. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
• Keep away from flammable objects. Maintain a minimum 12-inch clearance from drapes, bedding, and other combustibles.
• Keep out of reach of children and pets.
• Trim all three wicks to 5 mm (3/16 inch) before each burn.
• First burn: allow the candle to burn until the melt pool reaches the edge — typically 2–3 hours.
• Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
• Stop burning when 1/2 inch (12 mm) of wax remains.
• Place on a stable, heat-resistant surface. The base warms during extended burns.
• Do not move while lit — the wax pool is hot and the candle is heavy (25 lb / 11 kg).

These warnings meet the ASTM F2058 standard for candle fire safety.

6. California Proposition 65 Notice

⚠️ WARNING (California): Burning candles produces combustion by-products including carbon monoxide and trace particulates known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. Burn in a well-ventilated area. For more information: P65Warnings.ca.gov.

7. Assumption of Risk & Limitation of Liability

The Manor is an open-flame product that carries inherent fire and burn risks. By purchasing, you acknowledge these risks and agree to follow all safety instructions in Section 5 and on the product.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Nordic Nuances is not liable for any damage, injury, or loss arising from misuse of the candle, burning it unattended, or failure to follow the safety instructions provided. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability in connection with any order is limited to the amount you paid for the candle.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited — including liability for a genuine product defect, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, where applicable law does not permit such a limitation.

8. International Orders (EU / UK Consumers)

Nordic Nuances is a US-based business and primarily sells within the United States. If you contact us from outside the US and we agree to ship to you, the following additional rights apply to consumers resident in the European Union or the United Kingdom. These do not replace the rest of these terms; they sit alongside them.

Right of withdrawal. You have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of receiving your order, without giving any reason (EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU; UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013). To do so, email [email protected] with the subject line "Withdrawal" before the 14-day period expires. The candle must be returned in original, unburned condition, and return shipping is your responsibility unless the item is defective. Because The Manor is a standard product — not personalized to your individual specifications — this withdrawal right applies even though we pour each candle after your order is placed.

Legal guarantee of conformity. EU consumers have a legal guarantee of conformity of at least 2 years from delivery (Directive 2019/771). If The Manor is not in conformity with the contract (for example, it arrives structurally damaged or does not match the described specification), you may request repair, replacement, price reduction, or termination of the contract at no charge. 9. AI Content Disclosure

Some images used in the development of this website were created or enhanced with AI-assisted tools. Where technically feasible, any such images are labelled or described accordingly in their alt text. Nordic Nuances does not use fully AI-generated photographs to misrepresent the physical product.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Where you are a consumer protected by the mandatory laws of your country of residence (such as EU or UK consumers under Section 8), those protections continue to apply to you regardless of this provision.
